General Interpretive Coordinator – Homeplace Working Farm and Agricultural Museum
The Land Between The Lakes Association invites applications for the position of General Interpretive Coordinator – Homeplace Working Farm. The position is with LBLA and not a Federal or State position. Starting Date/Duration ASAP Full Time (not seasonal)
Qualifications
Prefer a person with four-year degree in a field of study consistent with the environmental education, cultural or the historical interpretation duties of the position or very closely related experience. Prefer someone with some experience with education planning.
Duties
Plans, develops and evaluates activities and programs conducted for school and other organized groups; assists other staff members in developing activities and programs for educators and students; trains other staff to conduct programs with emphasis on student activities and education. Innovates educational outreach efforts to engage more children, teachers and schools. Works closely under Lead’s supervision.
Develops and supervises, or assists with, special events, holiday weekends, and visitor excursion trips, as assigned. Assists with development of promotional flyers and group planning guides. Makes program assignments to other staff members; responsible for communication daily and weekly schedules of programs to other staff members. Trains new staff members in techniques and methods appropriate to the time period, as assigned.
Conducts appropriate facility interpretation. Assists with interpretive efforts at the Double Pen, Single Pen, Tool Barn, Agricultural locations on farm. Assists with curatorial duties associated with artifacts of a living history farm.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in generally accepted interpretation and positive customer service techniques. Hourly wage is commensurate with tasks required, qualifications and experience. It is $14.97 per hour plus paid time off and health reimbursement (no health insurance provided).
