    Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farm Historic Site in Olathe, Kansas has a position open for Interpretive Specialist-Livestock.  The Livestock Specialist is responsible for all livestock, stagecoach operations, and the agricultural program at this dynamic, mid-nineteenth century living history site located just outside Kansas City on what was the Santa Fe Trail.  The successful applicant will be highly team-oriented, and have prior experience working with draft and small animals and in nineteenth century agriculture practices, and a passion for engaging youth, families, and adults in actively discovering Kansas’ agricultural, frontier, transportation and Civil/Border War history. The Livestock Specialist is a key participant in developing and executing the overall interpretive program and visitor experience and supervises part-time employees and volunteers. Mahaffie Historic Site is a city government-operated facility administered through Olathe’s Parks and Recreation Department.  Olathe is nationally recognized for its high quality of life for residents and an outstanding school system.
