    RESPONSIBILITY: This position is responsible to the Education & Public Program Manager for the development and successful implementation of all program experiences presented by Hale Farm & Village.

    CLASSIFICATION: This position is classified as full-time professional and is exempt with regard to overtime compensation.

    SUPERVISION: This position works closely with the Education & Public Program Manager to supervise museum educators, artisans and volunteers presenting HFV programs and events throughout the year.


    1. Works with all HFV staff responsible for the development and implementation of HFV program experiences.
    2. Coordinates the operational needs of the site, staff and program needs with the Education & Public Program Manager.
    3. Contributes to and participates in collaborative efforts between HFV and community partners regarding HFV program experiences. 


    1. Works on collegial basis with HFV staff to develop, update and implement mission-related program experiences.
    2. Coordinates reservations for all HFV reservation-based programs & initiatives, including but not limited to school groups, Youth Entrepreneurship Education, summer youth programs, Holiday Lantern Tours, A Fugitive’s Path: Escape on the Underground Railroad, InHale events and exhibitors.
    3. With the Education & Public Program Manager, recruits, trains and evaluates all museum educators, artisans and volunteers.
    4. With the Education & Public Program Manager, insures and maintains the highest standards of quality for the programs and experiences presented by HFV.
    5. Supports income generation initiatives by identifying and recommending mission-related ventures, based on the strengths of HFV, which will contribute to the financial success of WRHS.
    6. With the Education & Public Program Manager, plans, orders and maintains materials and supplies needed for HFV program department.
    7. Responsible for the timely and thorough submission of paperwork to Education & Public Program Manager and the business office.
    8. Provides information and ideas for use in marketing efforts, including print materials, the HFV website and social media outlets, to ensure that published program information is consistently current, accurate, and is used to the fullest extent possible to promote access to and use of the program experiences.
    9. Acts as Manager on Duty when necessary and assigned.
    10. Undertakes other specific duties as assigned by the Education & Public Program Manager.                                             


    1. The ability to perform research to supplement new and existing program content and experiences, including the ability to write curriculum that aligns to state standards.
    2. The ability to prepare and manage a budget.
    3. The ability to communicate effectively with others, manage details, maintain stability under pressure, and have the flexibility to handle multiple tasks is highly desirable.
    4. The incumbent must possess an undergraduate degree in education, history, non-profit management, museum studies or related field.
    5. Creativity, initiative, enthusiasm, positive demeanor, confidentiality, and reliability are crucial to the success of this position.
    6. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to assist with and manage the periodic weekend and evening needs of HFV.
