The Nominating Committee is responsible for identifying ALHFAM members whose abilities and past service distinguish them for potential service to ALHFAM through its Board of Directors. Thus the vital role played by this Committee is to help feed and perpetuate ALHFAM's leadership.

The Vice President chairs the committee and encourages members to submit nominees.

We Need You – to Serve ALHFAM!

ALHFAM’s nominating committee always wants to hear from ALHFAM members who have an interest in serving the organization. The nominating committee must present a slate of candidates for elected positions each year for board approval at the Fall board meeting. The positions open for 2012 include vice-president (nominated in even years for election in odd years), three board members and one nominating committee member (nominated each year in contested races). The position of secretary-treasurer serves two years and is nominated in odd years for election in even years.

The committee looks for individuals who have proven service evident through conference presentations, regional or national committee work, and the ability to attend two meetings a year (including the annual conference) for the duration of their three year term. In addition, successful candidates will be expected to fulfill committee assignments while on the board, respond in a timely fashion to ALHFAM emails regarding organizational business, and attend the business meeting and newcomer’s reception during the annual conference.
